The Clemson Tigers won a huge game on Saturday after they defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Death Valley. Prior to the game, there was quite a bit of trash talk between the two teams.
Both teams knew that only one would really have any room to talk after the game was over. The Tigers were that team and defensive end Shaq Lawson was the first Clemson player to speak up.
According to College Spun, Lawson talked about the Irish not being able to hold up to the intense pressure of Tiger Stadium. He said that the Irish “weren’t ready for this environment.”
Honestly, I don’t think any team could rally prepare for that environment. Clemson had been experiencing torrential downpours all day long and the field was soaked.
The Tigers now have a very good chance of making the College Football Playoff. If they keep winning and Lawson keeps making plays like he is, fans will be surely hearing about him a lot more often this year.
