HS players refuse to shake hands before game, get flagged

This weekend, a Florida high school football game between Miramar and Flanagan got off to an interesting start.

Players from both teams went to the middle of the field for the coin toss, before giving each other an intense staredown and refusing to shake hands despite the referee’s warning.

Because of their refusal to shake hands, flags were thrown for unsportsmanlike conduct.

It was a very bizarre moment with players from both teams jawing at each other with some severe dislike for each other.

Flanagan went on to beat Miramar, 31-6.

As you could tell from the beginning of the game, the dislike for each other boiled over numerous times during the game en route to516 total penalty yards and three ejections for Miramar.
