LSU running back Leonard Fournette is continuing to prove why he deserves to win the Heisman Trophy and just about every other related award this season. Last Saturday, Fournette rushed for his third straight 200-yard game, an SEC record, against Eastern Michigan.
ESPN released their latest Heisman Watch polls and Fournette, unsurprisingly, is still atop the list. However, the rest of the list looks a little different as a few players moved up, while others moved down.
Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott had a huge day against Indiana, rushing for 274 yards and two touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ 34-27 win. TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin also had a big day as he padded his stats with 332 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
Both Boykin and Elliott had good enough games to bypass Georgia running back Nick Chubb, who fell to number four. Chubb only had 45 yards at halftime against Alabama and was able to go over 100 after an 83-yard run late in the third quarter.
You can see the full list below.
1. LSU’s Leonard Fournette
2. TCU’s Trevone Boykin
3. Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott
4. Georgia’s Nick Chubb
5. Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett
6. Cal’s Jared Goff
7. Alabama’s Derrick Henry
8. Stanford’s Kevin Hogan
9. Baylor’s Seth Russell
10. TCU’s Josh Doctson
11. USC’s Cody Kessler
12. Baylor’s Corey Coleman
It’s going to be tough to knock Fournette from the top of the list, but Elliott and Boykin are certainly doing all they can to do so.
