Mike Leach gives odd radio interview, takes shot at Oregon

Washington State head coach Mike Leach is the easiest coach to make fun of and it’s really nobody’s fault but his own. He is always the one to open his mouth and make some rather controversial comments.

Whether it be about having a 64-team playoff or allowing NFL teams to make their own football regulations, he is never shy about speaking his mind. According to College Football Talk, Leach is at it again as he joined John Canzano in a pretty unique radio interview on Monday.

In the interview, talked about the current state of the 2016 presidential candidacy race. He said that other Republican candidates would start dropping out and kissing Donald Trump’s backside if he gains any more steam.

He also went on to talk about pizza for some strange reason and being politically correct, which is very ironic considering his past. He then got down to talk about what he does for a living and that’s football.

He got on the topic of athletic facilities and he basically took a shot at everyone else’s, including the Cougars’ opponent on Saturday.

“We have the best facilities in America, certainly within the conference, including Oregon,” Leach said. “We’ve had those for a year that helped accelerate the recruiting effort.”

You can listen to the full interview below.

Honestly, I don’t think it’s very smart for Leach to take a shot at the Ducks considering they are still pretty upset about their embarrassing loss to Utah a few weeks ago.

The Cougars and Ducks are scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The game can be seen on the PAC-12 Network.
