Bills players accuse Odell Beckham Jr. of throwing punches after plays

Football is a violent sport. Athletes on the field are always trying to get the biggest hits and produce the best highlights. Because of that, players sometimes lose their cool on the field.

This past Sunday, the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants faced off in a pretty game that was handled pretty well by the latter team. According to The Buffalo News, Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. may have taken things a little too far during the game.

Bills players were accusing Beckham of throwing punches after plays. Things got a little heated during the fourth quarter when Beckham supposedly punched linebacker Preston Brown and a confrontation ensued.

Three plays later, Beckham punched defensive back Duke Williams following an interception. That punch was actually caught on film and spread like wildfire throughout social media platforms.

Cornerback Stephon Gilmore lined up against Beckham for most of the game and he said that the receiver was like a kid throwing “tantrums” after some plays.

“I don’t know what’s up with him,” Gilmore said. “He acts like nobody’s supposed to hit him and you’re supposed to let him catch the ball. He’s weird. He gets mad when you play physical with him. He’s weird.”

“He’s different. It’s kind of like you’re playing your little brother and he gets mad at you for being too physical with him — throwing a tantrum. I’m like, ‘Man, we’re playing football. It’s a physical game. … He’s a prima donna. He feels like he’s on top of the world and nobody’s supposed to do anything to him.”

Honestly, I never expected Beckham to act like this, but it happens. Maybe some of the stardom has made him believe he can get away with things like this, but if he’s not careful, it can cost him and his team big time down the road.
