Rice Owls freshman wide receiver Lance Wright has an injured knee and will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery soon. Stephanie Kuzydym of The Houston Chronicle reported Wright’s injury on Twitter.
Rice WR Lance Wright is out for the season. He'll have surgery on his knee in coming weeks.

A former three-star prospect out of Alaska’s North Pole High School, near Fairbanks, Wright has six catches for 49 yards this season in a situational role. He has appeared in two of five games. Rice has gone 2-3 (1-1 C-USA) on the season and though Wright’s missing time won’t be absolutely devastating to the team’s hopes for the season, depth is depth and losing any could prove to be a blow.
Campus Sports will update Wright’s recovery from his injury as any new information becomes available.
Rice takes a trip to Boca Raton this weekend to play the Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. ET.
