The Tennessee Volunteers are down a wide receiver, after it was reported on Wednesday morning that Pig Howard has been dismissed from the team for the always deadly “violation of unspecified team rules.”
Head coach Butch Jones made the announcement.
Last season, Howard was a big time playmaker and threat for the Vols offense, hauling in 91 receptions for 912 yards and four touchdowns.
This season, however, was a different story.
Howard had been limited due to injuries and only appeared in two games. In those two games, Howard recorded just one catch for eight yards.
The Vols return to the field on Saturday when they play host to the Georgia Bulldogs at Neyland Stadium.
