Texas expected to remain with Nike

Previous reports suggested the Texas Longhorns could be on the verge of switching from Nike to Under Armour when their current uniform deal expires, however, that seems to no longer be the case.

According to a report from the Austin American-Statesman, Texas cut a meeting with Under Armour and is expected to continue with Nike.

Texas has been with Nike since 2000.

With the Longhorns now expected to renew their Nike deal, it is likely that the University of Texas will sign the richest deal at the collegiate level. Currently, the richest deal is between Michigan and Nike which is a 15-year deal worth $169 million.

If the Longhorns top that deal, it’s another huge revenue stream for the university.

Let’s just hope they can get their athletics — specifically the football team — back on track.
