Jared Goff started the 2015 season with the California Golden Bears as a solid NFL prospect, but now he is one of the top players in the class and has a chance to be the first quarterback taken in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Goff has done an excellent job improving the areas he needed, while becoming a much better leader for his team.
According to a recent question that NFL.com asked executives around the league, Goff is comparable to Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan but with better arm strength.
“He reminds me of Matt Ryan, but has much better arm strength,” the scout said. “Watch his touchdown throw against Washington. It was a big-time throw.”
Recent NFL mock drafts have been projecting Goff to the Chicago Bears with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 draft. That may or may not end up being the case, but whoever ends up drafting him is going to be getting a very special player long-term. Goff has the potential to turn into a superstar and he definitely has the work ethic to improve to his full potential.
It will be very interesting to see what ends up happening with Goff and the Golden Bears throughout the remainder of the 2015 season. They are in major need of him continuing to play like a at a high level and to continue improving into the type of player that would be a top draft pick.
