LSU band learning South Carolina fight song, alma mater

The game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and LSU Tigers may not end up being a terrific one between the two teams, but at least the atmosphere will feel pretty cool. The Gamecocks were forced to move their game to Baton Rouge this weekend and because of travel constraints, their marching band will not be able to attend.

It was announced Wednesday afternoon that LSU’s Golden Band from Tigerland will be doing something very cool. Jacques Doucet of WAFB reported that the band will be learning South Carolina’s fight song and alma mater and they will play both at some point during the pregame show.

There has been no details on if the band will play the fight song after the Gamecocks score, but that would be a cool gesture. It’s unlikely that it will happen, but I’m sure some South Carolina fans would greatly appreciate it.
