Once again, Netflix has increased their prices. For the second time, Netflix has raised the cost of their standard plan. Their subscription cost will rise from $8.99 to $9.99 per month.
For current customers, however, their subscription will remain at $8.99 for one year.
A Netflix spokesperson stated, “to continue adding more TV shows and movies including many Netflix original titles, we are moderately raising the price for some new members in the U.S., Canada, and Latin American.”
This is not the first time Netflix rates have gone up.
Their standard plan went from $7.99 to $8.99 in May of 2014. Customers can pay $7.99 for Netflix’s “Basic” plan, but they are not able to watch shows or movies in HD or on multiple screens. They can also pay for their “Premium plan, which offers everything included in the “Standard” plan plus ultra HD when it is available.
