The Oregon Ducks football program has made another classy gesture as they show their support and unity with local communities following the shooting on campus at Umpqua Community College.
The Ducks, along with the Oregon State Beavers, have worn UCC helmet decals and there was even a ribbon on the field to honor those victims.
Now, Oregon is showing off their class once again.
The Oregon Athletic Department announced that they will be providing free tickets to students and staff members of Umpqua Community College for this weekend’s game against Washington State.
“On behalf of the University of Oregon Athletic Department, we want to invite you to attend the Oregon vs. Washington State Football game on October 10, 2015 at 3pm,” a statement read on goducks.com.
“After entering your information below, you will be e-mailed a promotional code that is good for up to 4 FREE TICKETS to this weekend’s game. Please call 541-346-5417 if you have any questions.”
It is amazing to see the support.
When tragedies like this take place, we can see communities divided because of politicized issues. However, Oregon has gone above and beyond to show their support and uplift the spirits of those impacted by the tragedy.
It truly is an amazing gesture.
