Will Muschamp comments on Byron Cowart’s frustration

The Auburn Tigers have certainly had a disappointing season so far. The team was once considered a real contender for the national championship and now they will be lucky to finish better than last in the SEC West.

One Auburn defensive lineman is not very happy with the way things have been going so far this year.

Freshman defensive lineman Byron Cowart was rated as the number one player in the entire country for the 2015 recruiting class, but he hasn’t lived up to that mantra so far in 2015.

Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp commented Cowart’s frustration this season. It can certainly help Tiger fans feel a little better about the lineman’s future with the program.

Muschamp on Byron Cowart: "He's doing very well. He's contributing. Playing (about) 20 snaps per game."

Muschamp has sensed no sense of doubt or disappointment from Byron Cowart, for those concerned about that.

Muschamp on Byron Cowart: "He is playing DL in Southeastern Conference." Says frustration is no different than other freshmen he's coached.

Cowart still has a long way to go in his maturation process as a player. The guy is only 19 years old and is playing in one of the toughest divisions in all of college football. You shouldn’t be surprised if he is struggling.

The Tigers have an off week before they travel to play the Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday, October 15. I’m Cowart will be wanting to prove himself in that very important game.
