Dolphins, others to inquire about Sean Payton after season

Despite what happens this season, the New Orleans Saints may be ready to move on from head coach Sean Payton. There are plenty of teams that would love to pick him up and it looks like it could be happening at the end of the season.

According to a report by Pro Football Talk, a few teams are planning on inquiring about Payton. One of those teams, the Miami Dolphins, fired head coach Joe Philbin just a week ago.

Multiple teams, including Miami, expected to inquire about Saints' HC Sean Payton’s availability after this season, per league sources.

Since Payton will still be under contract with the Saints after the 2015 season, the team would be entitled to compensation if Payton is to leave. It would be hard to imagine that Payton would leave the Saints for a team without an established and experienced quarterback at the reigns.
