The South Carolina Gamecocks’ team morale is low after losing to LSU yesterday dropped the squad to 2-4 on the season and 0-4 in SEC play, and one player in particular appears to be regretting his decision.
That player is freshman defensive lineman Shameik Blackshear, who posted a tweet after the Gamecocks’ loss. It has since been deleted, but it read “Should of looked around like my parents said.”
That drew quite the reaction, and Blackshear reacted accordingly.
It’s easy to see why Blackshear potentially feels the way he does. South Carolina has struggled mightily since losing quarterback Connor Mitch to injury, and Perry Orth and Lorenzo Nunez haven’t been particularly impressive in replacing him. Blackshear himself has appeared in just one game and has two tackles.
Just how Blackshear actually feels about playing in Columbia is unknown, but Campus Sports will update this story should any new information become available.
