4-star CB turns 18, commits to Notre Dame

Class of 2016 four-star cornerback Donte Vaughn, out of Memphis’ Whitehaven High School, celebrated his 18th birthday today by committing to Notre Dame. Vaughn announced his decision on his personal Twitter page.

This is a huge get for the Fighting Irish, as Vaughn had also received offers from a great number of schools and elite programs like Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and others. Vaughn ranks as the No. 7 cornerback in Tennessee and is No. 28 in the nation. Given the success that corners like KeiVarae Russell have had under coach Brian Kelly, it can be argued that it was an easy choice for Vaughn.

Come next year, he’ll have every chance to become an immediate impact player in South Bend.
