Homemade bomb found on Northern California golf course

Police say an “acid bomb” was found on the 18th fairway at Foxtail Golf Club in the Northern California town of Rohnert Park. A second bomb was found and was detonated prior in the course’s driving range.

Rohnert Park police Sgt. Jason Krauss said that course’s maintenance crew found the bombs, made with water bottles, which had a potential radius of 50 feet.

Krauss told the San Francisco Chronicle that the local bomb squad moved and detonated the first device in the driving range.

Sgt. Krauss also added that 49-year-old Rohnert Park resident Kevin Hornbuckle was apprehended in connection with the incident on suspicion of possession and manufacture of a destructive device.
