Mets fan cries to Mike Francesa over Chase Utley’s slide

The circus that is New York Mets fans crying over Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley’s alleged dirty slide that broke shortstop Ruben Tejada’s leg just got crazier. One fan, named Will, called into local radio host Mike Francesa’s show yesterday and called for pitcher Matt Harvey to retaliate against Utley in tonight’s Game 3.

Francesa then said it best:

“Will, you crying?” Mike Francesa replied. “It’s Sunday morning … glad I’m not spending the day with Will. That’d be a tough day.”

I quote “A League of Their Own”: THERE’S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!

Mets fans simply need to move on from what happened. Dirty slide or no, the only reason this appears to be an issue is because a former Philadelphia Phillie, the Mets’ NL Eastern Division rival, was the man guilty of the slide. Utley was suspended for Games 3 and 4, but has appealed and will be allowed to play tonight.

That said, Game 3 is slated to begin at 8:37 p.m. ET on TBS.
