Miami Dolphins won’t pursue Jim Harbaugh for coaching job

Following the Miami Dolphins’ decision to fire head coach Joe Philbin, they are already beginning to figure out which potential head coaches could replace him. According to a report from, Jim Harbaugh is not going to be one of the coaches that they pursue to take the job.

Harbaugh is currently in his first season with the Michigan Wolverines and has them playing impressive football this season. They have worked their way to being the No. 12 ranked team in the country and are considered a potential title contender.

Miami has quite a few options to choose from, but it is the right decision not to waste their time on Harbaugh. There is absolutely no chance he leaves Michigan after just one season.

Sean Payton is one name that has come up as a person of interest in the head coaching search. He hasn’t been happy with the New Orleans Saints’ ownership issues and could be on the move. New Orleans also hasn’t been playing well over the past couple of seasons and they could be ready for a change as well.

Other names could include Chuck Pagano, Kevin Sumlin and possibly David Shaw. All three of those coaches would be improvements over Philbin and could help turn the Dolphins’ franchise back around.
