The Northwestern Wildcats have looked like one of the top teams in the Big Ten this year, despite how their game against Michigan on Saturday went. It’s unlikely that this team will end up winning the Big Ten championship this year, but if it were to happen, it would work out almost perfectly.
Twenty years ago, the Wildcats were the 1995 Big Ten champions. The team went 10-2 and 8-0 in the conference, which landed them a spot in the Rose Bowl. To honor their anniversary of their conference championship, the team will wear “flashback jerseys” on Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

This is a nice nod to the team that laid the groundwork for all future Wildcats to ever take the field in Evanston. The game will kick off at noon on Saturday and will be televised on ABC or ESPN2.
