4-star linebacker P.J. Blue de-commits from South Carolina

The South Carolina Gamecocks were shocked to hear about head coach Steve Spurrier’s retirement last night and there are quite a few questions as to why he made the decision to do so.

Unfortunately, they are about to lose quite a few players that Spurrier recruited and one of them that has already de-commited from the school is four-star linebacker P.J. Blue.

Blue took to his personal Twitter account to announce his decision and it is a disappointing piece of news for the Gamecocks.

After talking it over with my family I have decided to decommit from the University of South Carolina.

No one can blame Blue for making the decision to de-commit from the school after Spurrier retired.

Playing for a legendary coach like Spurrier was a draw for quite a few players and now there is no clue as to who will be the next head coach for the Gamecocks. Blue being added back into the list of available 2016 players is a very intriguing situation for quite a few different teams.

Prior to committing to the Gamecocks, Blue had been considering quite a few other high-profile teams. He had offers from other schools like Alabama, Clemson, Ole Miss and plenty more.

South Carolina has to be very disappointed with how this entire situation has gone down. Spurrier made his decision after a 2-4 start to the 2015 season and is practically bailing on the Gamecocks. He will be missed by the program and finding another coach to fill his shoes will be difficult.
