Mark Dantonio shuts down South Carolina speculation

There was some speculation by the media that Michigan State Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio could be a candidate to fill the South Carolina Gamecocks’ head coaching vacancy.

That speculation was immediately shut down by Dantonio.

All of the speculation started because he played defensive back for the Gamecocks during his collegiate career.

Steve Spurrier seemed excited about the future with the Gamecocks ahead of this season, but his excitement quickly faded when the team started the 2015 season off at 2-4. They have the talent on their roster to be playing much better than they are, which is a major problem for them moving forward.

Now that Dantonio has officially bowed out of the conversation, there will be plenty more names mentioned to be candidates for the job.

Take a look at what Dantonio said in his press conference about the possibility of him taking the South Carolina coaching job.
