Dallas is 2-3 this year, with both Dez Bryant and Tony Romo out long-term with injuries.

While Weeden has put up decent numbers, completing 71 of 98 passes, he hasn’t attacked downfield and the Cowboys haven’t been putting up many points since Romo broke his collarbone.

They lost to New England 30-6 on Sunday.

Cassel was acquired in a trade with Buffalo after Romo went down. This week the Cowboys have a bye, and will face the Giants the following week.
