Pat Haden didn’t inform Steve Sarkisian of firing personally

As the USC-Steve Sarkisian saga continues, we have learned more details about the way the former head coach was fired from his position with the USC Trojans.

On Tuesday, athletic director Pat Haden spoke to the media and said that he never personally told Sarkisian he was fired. Haden also noted that he has not had a conversation with Sarkisian since his firing was announced.

According to Haden, he spent two hours attempting to reach Sarkisian by phone.

Sarkisian never answered, but Haden was ready to move forward and he went ahead making the announcement to the public. Since then, Sarkisian has reportedly entered a treatment facility and Haden has received a vote of confidence from the school president.

It will be interesting to see what is next for Sarkisian and the Trojans program, but the most important thing is that Sarkisian is able to overcome his demons.
