Temple announces rare sellout for football team

Temple University is announcing its second sellout of the season, something that the school hasn’t done since 1976. Their first sellout was its season opener against Penn State, which always draws a big crowd.

The opponent for their second is Notre Dame on October 31.

Notre Dame is making a rare trip to Philadelphia, their last game in the city was in 1993 to play Navy at Veterans Stadium. The last time they played Temple was in South Bend in 2013, they have never played Temple in Philadelphia.

Thus far this season both teams are undefeated.

Temple plays their home games at Lincoln Financial Field, and has played their home games at one of Philadelphia’s pro stadiums since 1976.
