Will Grier had led the Florida Gators to a 6-0 record this season, but unfortunately was suspended for the remainder of the year due to a violation of NCAA rules. He claimed to have taken over-the-counter supplements that contained something against the NCAA rules.
It is a huge loss for the Gators.
Moving forward into this week’s game against the LSU Tigers, backup quarterback Treon Harris will step into the starting role.
Harris and the rest of the Gators’ family are extremely disappointed with the news that Grier is out for the remainder of the season. They are a close-knit group of players and losing one of them isn’t easy to swallow. That being said, it means that Harris has to step up in a big way moving forward.
Following the suspension, Harris took to his personal Twitter account to post a tribute to Grier. He posted a photo of the two with the caption of “My Brother” on the Tweet.
Check out the tweet for yourself and see just how close Harris seems to be to Grier.
Florida will kick off their Week 7 game against LSU at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN, so make sure to tune in and see whether or not Harris can keep them in contention.
