James Franklin updates star RB’s status for Ohio State game

Penn State running back Saquon Barkley has been a big part of the team’s success this season. The team is 5-1 and are looking to pull off a huge upset this weekend against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Barkley has missed the last two games for the Nittany Lions with a lower leg injury. According to College Spun, head coach James Franklin said that Barkley has been limited in practice and his status for Saturday’s game is strictly up to the medical staff.

James Franklin said doctors and trainers will decide if RB Saquon Barkley will play Saturday for Penn State. He's missed the past 2 games.

If the Nittany Lions want to pull off the upset this season, Barkley’s presence in the game could be the key factor in what they are going to be able to do this year. The freshman running back has rushed for 373 yards and three touchdowns on 42 carries this season.

The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ABC.
