Longhorns watch motivational video before beating Sooners

What does it take for a reeling 1-4 team, who has lost three games in a row, to go out and beat their historically hated, undefeated rival in a game that was expected to be nothing short of a blow out? Well, apparently just a pre-game hype video.

Before handing Oklahoma their first loss of the season, the Texas Longhorns watched a motivational video that features clips from the 2008 film “The Dark Knight”, along with scenes of inspirational play that will make any football fan want to throw on helmet and buckle their chin strap. It doesn’t take much for a college football team to get up for a rivalry game, but the Longhorns coaching staff thought a little extra motivation wouldn’t hurt–and boy did it help.

Saturday was the 110th edition of the Red River River and the Longhorns ran for over 300 yards while allowing only 67. The 24-17 win was Charlie Strong’s first of the rivalry, and Texas’ second win in the last six match ups against the Sooners.
