Matt Barnes on joining the Grizzlies, advice to young athletes

Campus Sports recently caught up with Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes at his third annual charity event, the AVC Celebrity Football Game in Los Angeles, for the latest edition of our online web series, “Time Out.”

Barnes discussed what it will be like playing on the other side of the heated Grizzlies vs. Clippers matchup and provided advice to young athletes dreaming of playing in the NBA.

When speaking of playing on the other side of the colassal Western Conference matchup, Barnes said, “It’s going to be fun. Absolutely. I have a lot of great friends on the Clippers.

“But I’m moving to Memphis, a defensive oriented team, which I love and I’m glad I’m a part of. You know, it’s going to be fun on the court for sure this year.”
