Steve Sarkisian tweets first public remarks since firing

Former USC Trojans head football coach Steve Sarkisian took to Twitter today to make his first statement since being terminated from his position on Monday following multiple alcohol-related incidents. Sarkisian has since checked himself into a treatment center to seek help for his problem.

Sarkisian’s tweets were reported by Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports and were as follows:

I would like to thank everyone for their huge outpouring of support and well wishes.

This is a very difficult time for my family and me. I am facing these challenges the best I can and your support helps immensely.

I wish my Trojans the best against Notre Dame and for the remainder of the season. No one will be cheering them on more than me. Fight On!

Hopefully, Sarkisian gets the help he needs so that by some stretch of luck, he may return to the sidelines at some point.

USC’s game against Notre Dame kicks off in South Bend at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
