Colorado coach guarantees win over Arizona

Colorado Buffaloes coach Mike MacIntyre has guaranteed a win over Pac-12 rival Arizona tonight, per a tweet from Alex Burness of The Daily Camera.

Sorry to rain on any Buffs fans’ parade, but this is just overly optimistic on MacIntyre’s part. While Colorado has shown improvement in MacIntyre’s third year in Boulder, the team is simply no match for Arizona. The Buffaloes are 3-3 (0-2 Pac-12) and have not beaten what one would necessarily call top competition in 2015. Their last two losses have been to strong programs in Oregon and Arizona State.

Moreover, though Arizona is without star linebacker Scooby Wright, the Wildcats’ offense is still strong with quarterback Anu Solomon under center, not to mention a strong rushing attack that posted five touchdowns last weekend against Oregon State.

Thus, though it is homecoming weekend in Boulder and Colorado should have an extra bounce in its step, they are still seven point underdogs, and no match for Arizona.

Kickoff is slated for 9 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1
