Injured Southern University wide receiver Devon Gales has begun rehabilitation after suffering a devastating spinal cord injury against Georgia earlier this season.
Gales suffered several fractures to his spine after a hit in a game on September 26 against the Bulldogs. After undergoing surgery, he has started rehab at the Shepard Center in Atlanta. The Shepard Center has been ranked by US World & News Report as one of the top ten rehabilitation centers in the country.
Southern University in located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana but after Gales suffered the injury, the University of Georgia showed some serious goodwill and flew Gales’ family from Louisiana to be with him.
In addition, Georgia is encouraging Bulldog fans and everyone else to donate to the Devon Gales fund set up by Southern University. Here’s wishing to a speedy recovery by Gales, and best wishes to him and his family.
