Though the Texas A&M Aggies got shellacked by the Alabama Crimson Tide 41-23 on Saturday, that didn’t stop the scoreboard operators at Kyle Field from taking a shot an in-state rival Texas when given the chance.
As can be seen in a tweet from Zach Barnett of Football Scoop, the scoreboard showed the score of Texas’ game against TCU two weeks ago, when the Horned Frogs blew out the Longhorns 50-7.
Granted, the Aggies did used to play the Longhorns regularly when both were in the Big 12, so teasing likely still happens between both fan bases. But for A&M to do this and then get destroyed by Alabama? That’s not a good look.
The loss dropped the Aggies down to No. 15 in the rankings and effectively ended its hopes of winning the SEC this year, barring another Alabama loss and collapse by LSU. Texas is in much rougher shape but it’s like the old saying says: those in glass houses should not throw stones.
Texas A&M will look to right the ship on Saturday when it pays a visit to Oxford to take on the Ole Miss Rebels. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on ESPN.
