Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook is having a strong sophomore season, and he has a big fan in Clemson Tigers coach Dabo Swinney. In fact, speaking to reporters, including Brad Senkiw and Dan Hope of the Independent Mail, Swinney went so far as to say Cook was the best running back in the country.
Swinney says Florida State's Dalvin Cook is the "best running back in the country."

Dabo Swinney asked about Dalvin Cook vs. Leonard Fournette: "They're both really good, but you can only pick one, I'm picking Dalvin Cook."

Clearly, Swinney hasn’t been watching much of Fournette this season. Sure, Cook has been great to the tune of 955 yards and 10 touchdowns along with 11 receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown, but Fournette has been practically unstoppable for the LSU Tigers this season.
Fournette has run for 1,202 yards and 14 touchdowns this season and is a legitimate Heisman contender. At this point, there’s no telling what will slow him down, if anything at all.
That said, though Swinney is likely more familiar with Cook since their respective teams play in the ACC, there is little doubt that Fournette is the better of the two from every standpoint.
