The Baylor Bears have a special talent in the middle of their defensive line in junior Andrew Billings. Since getting to Waco as a freshman in 2013, Billings has played in 30, only missing two his freshman season.
In his two and a half years, Billings has recorded 89 tackles and 4 sacks. He recorded 2.5 sacks last season and a career-high 38 tackles, while through only six games this year, he has 21 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
No matter when he decides to come out and head to the NFL, Billings is going to be a big draft pick for whoever takes him. According to NFL.com, Kansas head coach David Beaty, who has coached all over the country, praised Billings for being one of the best defensive linemen he has ever seen.
Beaty compared Billings to current Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. He said that Suh is the only defensive lineman that is better than Billings right now.
If Billings’s career plays out like Suh’s has -minus the drama, of course- he could be a steal in the Draft, whether it be in 2016 or 2017.
