The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are one of the better teams in the Conference USA this year. The team is 6-1 and 4-0 in the conference, with their only loss being a 38-35 heartbreaker to the then-undefeated Indiana Hoosiers.
The Hilltoppers have one of their toughest matchups this year when they head to Baton Rouge to play the LSU Tigers on Saturday. According to The Courier-Journal, LSU head coach Les Miles has reason to believe that this game is going to be one of their toughest games yet.
This is a very good football team. All you have to do is watch film,” said Miles. He talked about Hilltopper quarterback Brandon Doughty saying he is “every bit of an SEC quarterback.”
Miles said that he even gave the Hilltoppers a vote in his weekly Coaches Poll ballot.
That’s a pretty big nod from Miles for the Hilltoppers. This game should be a good one, but considering the Tigers have won 51 straight regular season non-conference games, I don’t think they will allow the Hilltoppers to come in and pull off the upset.
