On Saturday, LSU tight end Dillon Gordon re-aggravated an Achilles injury in his left leg early in the game. He was not able to return for the remainder of the Tigers’ 35-28 win over Florida.
Gordon may be out for much longer than the Tigers would have hoped. According to College Football Talk, LSU head coach Les Miles stated that Gordon may miss the remainder of the 2015 season with the injury.
Gordon had already missed games against Syracuse, Eastern Michigan, and South Carolina due to the injury. Because it is so late in the season, Gordon does not qualify for a regular redshirt, but the NCAA will look into if he is eligible for a medical redshirt.
If Gordon is out for the rest of the year, this could affect the Tigers’ run blocking. Gordon was a big part of the line up front in opening holes for Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice, and Darrel Williams.
The Tigers host Western Kentucky on Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
