O’Leary dispels any head coach in waiting rumors

-

George O’Leary has been the UCF Black Knights head football coach since 2004, and according to him he is going to keep it that way.

After stepping down as UCF’s Athletic Director earlier this month, the 69-year-old football coach wants everyone to know that there is no head coach in line awaiting to take his spot when he decides to step down.

When asked about his current contract clause and a possible coach-in-waiting O’Leary responded in his Monday press conference, “No there isn’t. That’s why it’s my contract. I worry about me. But no, there’s nothing in there . ..what are you talking about a coach in-house or something like that?”

In October of 2014, O’Leary and UCF agreed on a contract extension that would keep the head coach in Orlando until 2017.
