Naturally, there has been rampant speculation as to who will be the next head football coach at USC after Steve Sarkisian’s firing last week. One of the names being mentioned was former USC and current Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, especially as his team has stumbled out of the gate in the NFL by going 2-4 thus far.
"I love USC, its a great place. But that's not happening."- Carroll on rumors he's interested in USC job.

Carroll enjoyed an extremely successful campaign while at the helm of USC, but his tenure also resulted in crippling NCAA sanctions. And with former Carroll protégés Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian failing miserably, USC might be looking to wash their hands of the Pete Carroll era entirely.
Others rumored to be in the mix included Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy until he denied any interest. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport has said New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly are being considered as well.
