Texas Christian quarterback Trevone Boykin wears a lot of hats: star quarterback, Heisman Trophy candidate, incredible athlete, the list goes on.
Now, Boykin can add “someone that can give you all the feels” to his resumé.
Thanks to a picture from Paul Moseley, a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, fans can now see the tender moment Boykin had with a little girl in a wheelchair prior to last week’s game against Iowa State.
The picture above was posted to Moseley’s Facebook page, and he said the following in its caption:
So I hustle out to mid-field for the TCU Iowa State coin toss. The TCU captains are there plus a special guest of Iowa State, a little girl in a wheelchair. They toss the coin, all the players come over to see the girl, but one player, TCU QB Trevor Boykin, took the time to kneel down and I hear him say “What’s your name?” I was incredibly touched. Who but a true champion does that just minutes before a big game?
Boykin would go on to throw for 436 yards and four touchdowns as TCU rolled, 45-21. Just what he’ll end up doing on the professional level remains to be seen, but one thing is certain. Based on how he just naturally went up to this young child on his own, without prodding from coaches or team higher-ups, his draft stock just went WAY up.
TCU will enjoy a bye this week before taking on West Virginia at home next Thursday.
