In what is probably the least surprising news of the weekend, the Miami Hurricanes have announced that they have parted ways with head coach Al Golden. This comes just a day after the Hurricanes suffered their worst loss in program history at the hands of the Clemson Tigers.
The loss dropped the Hurricanes to 4-3 on the season and out of contention for the ACC Atlantic division championship. The news was broken by Bleacher Report’s Barrett Sallee via Twitter.
In just four and a half seasons, Golden accumulated a pitiful record of 32-25, a far cry from the Hurricane team that competed for a national championship every year in the early 2000’s. This may come as a nice relief for the Hurricane fans who have been calling for Golden’s job for most of the season.
