Congressman Carlos Burbelo calls Miami program ‘an absolute embarrassment’

Saturday did not go as planned for the Miami Hurricanes to say the least, and many of their fans are fed up. Down 58-0 against Clemson, Sun Life Stadium was almost empty with five minutes left in the game. Many are left to wonder how a once premier college football program has fallen so far from what it once was.

Even their most visible alumni are voicing their disappointment. U.S. Congressman Carlos Curbelo, of Florida’s 26th District, took to Twitter to call the Hurricanes “an absolute embarrassment for what was once a great program.”

A new low for @CanesFootball – an absolute embarrassment for what was once a great program. Anyone at @univmiami care to try to save it?

Harsh words, but harsher words are probably being thrown around, just not on Twitter.
