Longtime Minnesota Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders has passed away today at the age of 60 after a battle with Hodgkins’ lymphoma.
This is shocking news to say the very least and it is saddening for the entire world of sports. Saunders has made a big difference in many players’ lives and will be missed by many. He was one of the better head coaches in the league as well and always brought a steady voice to the locker room.
Throughout Saunders’ NBA coaching career, he compiled a 654-594 record. He coached for 17 seasons and had quite a few big years while putting together many memorable teams throughout those years.
Campus Sports sends its sincerest condolences to Saunders’ family and the Minnesota Timberwolves organization.
