Houston Texans RB Arian Foster out for the season

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster suffered a torn Achilles in today’s loss to the Miami Dolphins and is out for the season. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the unfortunate news on Twitter.

It’s another unfortunate end to a season due to injury for Foster, who has not played a full season since 2012. He appeared in just four games in 2015, missing the first few weeks of the season due to a groin injury. He finishes the season with 163 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Just what happens next is anyone’s guess. Foster is only 29, but will turn 30 before the start of next season. But he also has just one year left on his contract and is due $6.5 million in 2016. Given his durability issues, he is definitely a candidate to be cut this summer.

In Foster’s absence, Alfred Blue will take over as the lead back.

Needless to say, at 2-5, things cannot get much worse for Houston.
