Ryan Mallett missed Houston Texans’ team flight

The Houston Texans made the switch from Ryan Mallett to Brian Hoyer as their starting quarterback and it is obvious that Mallett isn’t happy with the move. He has been showing displeasure in quite a few different ways, but the latest issue was missing the team flight to Miami to take on the Dolphins this week.

Texans QB Ryan Mallett missed team charter and had to fly commercial to Dolphins game. I can imagine Bill OBrien reaction.

Bill O’Brien cannot be happy with his backup quarterback following this piece of news. No matter what the reasoning was for missing the flight, Mallett has worked his way into a deep and dark hole to have a chance at returning to the starting quarterback position in the future.

It has been a depressing season for the Texans, but these pieces of news make it much worse than it needs to be.

Frustration is understandable, but the way that Mallett is handling things isn’t. He is a grown man that is getting paid very well to play the game of football. Instead of sulking and missing team flights, perhaps Mallett should work harder to improve his game and become a player that can play the game consistently and earn playing time.

All of that being said, this is the bizarre story from NFL Week 7 action and Mallett is the biggest loser from this week in the league. It is an embarrassing story and hopefully Mallett learns from the situation and gets punished accordingly.
