Arizona State’s ’96 throwbacks will honor Pat Tillman

The Arizona State Sun Devils take on the Oregon Ducks tonight, and they’ll be looking sharp in honoring a fallen teammate while doing so. In tonight’s game, the team will wear throwback uniforms from 1996 and all players will have the name “Tillman” on their nameplate.

This is to honor former Sun Devil Pat Tillman, who gave up a career in the NFL to bravely serve his country before being killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell and The Arizona Republic‘s Andrew Joseph posted pictures of the uniforms on Twitter.

The uniforms, made by adidas, are just awesome. The vibrant colors bring out everything that is Arizona State, and putting Tillman’s name on the back as a way of honoring him is just the cherry on top.

Plus, who doesn’t love throwbacks?

That said, be sure to tune to ESPN at 10:30 p.m. ET to check out these duds in action!
