Yesterday, it was reported that Georgia’s third-string quarterback Faton Bauta would be seeing some good playing time against the Florida Gators this Saturday. It now seems that there is a changing of the guard at the quarterback position for this weekend.
According to Mike Huguenin of gridironnow.com, the Bulldogs named Bauta that starter for Saturday’s big game in Jacksonville. He replaces Greyson Lambert, who had started every game this season.
Bauta has only seen action in three games this year, throwing for only 48 yards.
However, Bauta does bring a different dynamic to the field as he is more of a mobile quarterback than either Lambert or Brice Ramsey.
He rushed for 14 yards and two touchdowns against Troy earlier this year. That could come in handy this weekend as the Gators likely prepared for a pocket quarterback rather than a scrambler.
What a way to start off your career in the SEC.
