Seth Collins has been one of few bright spots in what has been a disappointing 2-5 campaign. Though he has only completed 52 percent of his passes, the true freshman leads the team with 536 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
Therefore it probably depresses fans even more to hear Gina Mizell of The Oregonian report that “Collins did not practice Thursday due to an undisclosed injury ‘setback’ sustained during stretching.”
Exactly what the cause or diagnosis of the injury remains a mystery as first year head coach Gary Andersen has “no idea.” Andersen elaborated saying, “He left the field even before stretch was over with, and (I) haven’t seen him since. We’ll have to get updates from (Dr. Doug Aukerman) as we move forward. I’m always optimistic.”
Oregon State takes on no. 13 Utah on Saturday, if Collins can’t start redshirt freshman Nick Mitchell will likely start in his place.
