Johnny Manziel expected to start for Cleveland Browns

|

Johnny Manziel has been a polarizing figure in the world of sports since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round last year. He has yet to receive much playing time, but did come through with a big start earlier this year. Since then, the Browns’ fan base has been wanting to see him get another star of aging quarterback Josh McCown.

According to multiple reports, Manziel is expected to start for the Browns this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

During the limited playing time that Manziel has had this season, he has completed 28 of his 50 pass attempts for 393 yards, three touchdowns and just one interception. He has looked much better with the football in his hands and has obviously made some big improvements throughout the past year.

Cleveland should have been starting Manziel from day one this season, but have wasted time with McCown.

There is absolutely no pressure on Manziel’s shoulders heading into this week’s game. Cincinnati has an excellent all-around team, but Manziel simply has to go out there and make the easy throws.

The Bengals’ defense has shown that is is prone to give up big games through the air, which bodes well for Manziel’s chances.

If Manziel is able to come out this week and put up a big game, there is a chance that he could win the starting job. Winning this AFC North rivalry game would likely lock him into the starting job for at least the next couple of weeks.

Expect to see him come through with a solid game, but he definitely could have a huge game and finally take control of the Browns’ starting quarterback job.
