Kentucky routes Ottawa in exhibition opener

|

Kentucky showed that their next highly touted freshman class is going to come running out of the gate, again. Jamal Murray and Tyler Ulis both notched double-doubles in addition to four other Wildcats scoring in double figures to lead Kentucky over the NAIA Ottawa (Kan.) Braves 117-58.

Murray just missed out on a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists to lead Kentucky in Lexington against Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhart’s alma mater. Freshman Skal Labissiere and Isaiah Briscoe also scored in double figures along with juniors Marcus Lee and Derek Willis. Kentucky made 15 of their first 17 shots and finished shooting over 60 percent from the field.

Marshon Norfleet led the Braves with 20 points, who shot just 26 percent.
